YEAH!  I know there had been some changes along the way with design and woods, etc., but I was absolutely amazed when I got the octave mandolin out.  WOW!  How absolutely beautiful it is.  I’m so incredibly happy with the results and your work.  I couldn’t even think of anything that I would chose to do differently.  Just perfect.  Kevin W.

I just picked up the ukulele this morning. It looks and sounds wonderful. Thank you very much. I will cherish this instrument.  Tom B.

Howdy Kevin,
I hope all is well in Texas for y’all.  I just wanted to give some praises to your walkabout shop.  Feel free to use the following as a reference for your business.
The nylon walkabout is absolutely the most enjoyable, addictive musical instrument ever.  Can’t seem to put it down, all the broken knuckles over the years don’t seem to be an issue.  I can play anything.
And the quality of the build is superb.  All the joints, seams and corners are flawless.  I don’t like to keep it in its case, leave it out for all to see.  Maybe that’s why it gets played so much.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to learn a musical instrument.  It’s so easy to get started!  Then once you start playing, you’ll be jamming with others.
Having the pickup installed has been a blessing, playing even more with folks because of it.  So, I would recommend that they have you build it with the pickup from the get go.
One of the most enjoyable aspects, is just simply sitting down with your favorite music, and figuring it out.  It’s so easy to play that you can learn to play along with anything.

God Bless ya Kevin,

Moose Pier

P.S.  I think most hymns must have been written to use a dulcimer.  Although I don’t know many, they are fun.

Hi, Kevin,
I just wanted to send a testimonial to you, in case you would need it for business purposes.
I purchased your bass dulcimer from Hill Country Guitars, and have been so impressed with it! I’m a bassist, so I love deep bass sounds, and this dulcimer delivers! It is very obviously made with great skill and care. The wood is beautiful (and smells good), the instrument is solid, and it feels comfortable to play. I love it, and I thank you for it!

Hi Kevin,                                                                                                                                             Just wanted to let you know what a great time I’ve been having with that featherweight nylon string Walkabout. It’s a delightful little thing with a sweet voice and is a joy to play. I’ve played it everyday since I bought it, and I’m grateful for the joy it has brought me.  Many thanks.

The dulcimer arrived this afternoon.  Fabulous!!!  Great looking and excellent craftsmanship.  I was going to ask you if it would take a strap button, but you already put one on…the dulcimer is so well balanced I probably won’t need one though.  The instruction book is really well written…clear, concise and full of ideas.  The chord tabs will help a lot with wrapping my mind around switching from mountain dulcimer. I tuned the dulcimer up almost as soon as I got it out of the wrapping and case….and finally managed to put it down just a few minutes ago…can’t stay away from it.

It’s GREAT. Thanks for a wonderful new opportunity for enjoyment.  I’m reminded of a line from a famous German poet…”Noch ein Erlebnis, voll von Milch und Honig!” (a new experience, full of milk and honey).  Guess I’ll have to name her Honey (G).

Thanks again…my dulcimer buddies will be so jealous.

You know I bought a six string bass dulcimer from you a few years ago, and I have to say it is one of the finest string instruments I’ve ever had the honor to play — and I’ve played a LOT of high-end guitars, basses, ukuleles, mandolins, etc. over the last 35 years.  THANK YOU! I want to buy another from you…. Perhaps something to compliment the Bass Dulcimer, though I want six strings and also the added frets to provide different modes while playing.  What’s in your pipeline that might interest me?  Let me know.  I would love to support your work and I consider you a true craftsman.
